Privacy Policy
Block Trock is a block puzzle game published by Peter Torki. This policy describes exactly what the app collects, why, and how to have it deleted. It is written to match what the code actually does rather than to cover every possibility, and it is updated when the code changes.
The short version
- You can play without giving us a name, an email or anything else.
- We do not sell data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising profiles.
- Ads are non-personalised.
- You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app.
What we collect
An account, created automatically
On first launch the app creates a guest account so your progress survives. It has a random identifier and no personal details. We store a friend code, a display name if you set one, your best score, your daily streak, and your friends list.
If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook
We receive your email address and, where the provider supplies it, your name and a link to your profile picture. We use the email only to recognise the same account on another device. The name and picture become your display name and avatar, which other players see on leaderboards, friend lists and in matches. If you sign in with Facebook we also store your Facebook user ID so friends who play can find you. Signing in is optional; the game is complete without it.
If you use "Facebook friends who play"
This is a separate, optional step. Facebook asks whether to share your friend list, and only lists friends who also play Block Trock and also agreed. The app sends those friends' Facebook IDs to our server once, to find which of them have accounts, and the list is not stored. The Facebook access token stays on your device and is discarded after use.
Diagnostics and usage
The app reports crashes and counted usage so we can fix faults and understand whether features are used. This includes:
- a random install identifier generated by the app — not a device or advertising ID
- the platform, OS version, app version, device model, language and time zone
- counts of events such as app opens and games played
- crash reports, including the error message and stack trace
Usage is stored as counts, not as a record of individual actions: we keep "1,840 games were started today", not a log of when you played. Crash reports are stored individually because a count cannot be debugged, and individual reports are deleted after 30 days.
What we never collect
Location, contacts, the photos on your device, calendar, microphone or camera data, browsing history, and any free text other than a display name you choose. (The ad provider's use of your device's advertising identifier is described under Advertising below.)
Notifications
If you turn notifications on, the app registers a push token so we can tell you about friend requests, challenges, match results and the daily puzzle. You choose which of those you want, and the choice is enforced on our servers — turning a category off stops it being sent, not just displayed. Turning notifications off deletes the token.
Advertising
There is one advertisement in the game: an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch when a run ends, to keep playing. It is served by Google AdMob and is requested as non-personalised, so it is not targeted using a profile of you. AdMob's own handling of ad requests is described in Google's policy. Google's ad software in the app reads your device's advertising identifier, together with your IP address and basic device information, to deliver the ad, measure it, limit how often you see it and prevent ad fraud. Because the ad is non-personalised, the identifier is not used to target ads at you, and we never receive it ourselves. You can reset or delete it at any time in your device's settings (on Android, Settings › Privacy › Ads). We do not ask for tracking permission.
Children
Block Trock is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account with an email address, contact us and we will delete it.
Where data is stored
On Amazon Web Services in Stockholm, Sweden (the eu-north-1 region).
Push notifications are delivered through Expo, which passes them to Apple or Google
for delivery to your device.
How long we keep it
- Your account and scores — until you delete your account.
- Individual crash reports — 30 days.
- Aggregate counts — indefinitely. These are totals per day and are not linked to you.
Deleting your account
In the app: open Profile and tap Delete my account. It asks twice, then removes your profile, display name, friend code, friends, leaderboard entry, push registrations and sign-in identity. It cannot be undone.
If you have already uninstalled the app, email peter.j.torki@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, or include your friend code, and we will delete the account within 30 days.
One thing we cannot reliably remove: a score submitted to a past daily challenge is stored against that day's puzzle. After deletion it is a number attached to an identifier that no longer refers to anything — no name, no email, no way to reach you — and it is not used to build any profile.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or a copy of it. Email peter.j.torki@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes and the app's store listing is updated.
